Nerdtastic: [nûrd-tās'-tĭk] (adj): Something generally not cool, but to a nerd, it's fantastic. See also: any other mash-up word pertaining to "nerd" or "geek".
Get used to this word. It's what this blog is all about. You're here to listen to me rant, rave, and ramble about various nerdtastic things, and if you don't like the sound of that, well, keep reading anyway!

Nerdtastic is a good coinage.
My favourite is still Ipsissimostical, though.
It's about time the Geek/hacker community got some respect. I suppose it has a small amount, but we're still lumped in with "Nerds". People don't realize that Geeks are healthy, normal members of society who just happen to have a knack for things... well, geeky. I think the coming of Google has ushered in a new age where we will finally get some kudos. The dawn of the Internet definitely started the change and has changed the world for the better, definitely. Check out my blog where I ramble about all things Geek: http://thegentlegeek.blogspot.com
You know nothing about the meaning of hacker. Do not identify yourself as one. Hackers have historically been shunned, and they continued with their passion anyway. They have suffered, stood the test of time, and have emerged as a group of individuals with a high standard of morals, identity, and skills. You, on the other hand, are trying to get social approval for your interests, because you're ashamed of them. Go read Eric S. Raymond, learn how to code, stop apologizing for yourself, then come back and we'll consider it.
